About Mr. Gibbs

I have been involved in the Seventh-day Adventist educational system for 42 years. During that time, I have taught Grades 3 through Junior College, along with being a school principal. As the SDA educational system is the second largest parocial in the world, I also had the privilege of serving in the Far East. I was posted in

Singapore, Palau, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. This is my tenth year at Redlands Adventist Academy. Previously I was principal and taught at San Francisco Junior Academy and Valley View Academy in Arroyo Grande, California. I hold both an elementary and secondary teaching credential. My BS in religion was earned at Pacific Union College, my MA in Elementary Education from Michigan State University (in Singapore), and my Ed.S. in Administration and Leadership from La Sierra University.

I have served on the Monterey Bay Academy Board and have been involved with the Pacific Union Conference on the Curriculum Committees and the Mentor Teacher Program.

My wife, who works at Loma Linda University, and I live in Crestline. We have two daughters, Juliette and Leasa. Leasa works at Loma Linda Medical Center as a nurse and Julie lives in Michigan. My hobbies are history, rock hounding, nature, and riding my motorcycle. My great joy in life is being with my family and my students.

In July 2003 I finally became a Grandpa with the the birth of Rylan. Samuel and Nathan soon followed! There is nothing like being a grandparent!
