In the Classroom‎ > ‎

Discipline

Our room activities and our actions are controlled by the classroom guideline “What would Jesus do?”. Disagreements and misunderstandings are talked over and resolved with Christ’s help.

All of us are precious in the sight of Jesus, our teacher, and our school. Positive reinforcement is continually given throughout the day as we grow with Him.

Steps

  1. If we choose to make a poor decision our teacher will quietly talk to us and remind us of our classroom guideline, WWJD. Our name will be put on the board.
  2. If we again choose to make a poor decision, our teacher again will talk to us. A check will be placed after our name.
  3. If we again choose to make a poor decision, we will forfeit the next recess and fill out a yellow timeout behavior worksheet. This sheet must be taken home, signed by a parent, and returned the next day. Failure to return the signed form on time can place a student in a position of missing additional play time. Our teacher will also pray with us. If we continue to make poor choices involving our behavior or late work, a conference will be set up involving the student, parent(s), and teacher.

If our actions are serious, our parents will be contacted the first time.

We are all different in many ways and our differences are to be respected. No one is ever allowed to make fun of us because of our cultural backgrounds, our roots, or our physical appearance.

If a serious situation arises, such as violence, threats, or sexual harassment, the school principal will be immediately involved in the solution and our parents notified.

Our activities are controlled in the classroom by our stop light. When the light is green, we can move around and stay on task. When the yellow light is on, we need to be in our seats and whisper. The red light means all is quiet. We can move logs if we do not follow the stop light guidelines.

We can lose our recess if we do not follow the stop light or if we are behind in our work.
